Delete Your Account

Last updated: May 2026

You can request permanent deletion of your Poemly account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains what gets deleted, how long the process takes, and how to make the request.

How to Request Deletion

While we finalize the in-app deletion flow, you can submit a request by email. From the address linked to your Poemly account, send a message to frank@unattended.company with the subject line “Delete my account”. Please include:

  • The email address associated with your account;
  • Your display name or username, if applicable;
  • Confirmation that you understand the deletion is permanent.

We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing the request to protect against unauthorized deletion.

What Gets Deleted

When your request is processed, we permanently remove:

  • Your account profile, including email address and display name;
  • All poems, drafts, notes, and other content stored under your account;
  • Waitlist entries, preferences, and settings;
  • Authentication identifiers and session tokens.

What May Be Retained

We may retain a limited amount of information where required for legal, tax, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, or where it has been irreversibly anonymized and can no longer be associated with you. Backups containing your data are purged on a rolling schedule and are typically removed within 30 days of deletion.

Timeframe

We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 5 business days and to complete the deletion within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.

Before You Delete

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you would like to keep a copy of your work, please export your poems and drafts before submitting your request. If you only want to take a break, consider signing out instead — your account will remain intact until you choose to delete it.
